C-Capture designs world-leading chemical processes for carbon dioxide (CO2) removal. C-Capture has developed a unique, safe, low-cost, solvent-based technology to remove CO2 from power stations and industrial plants, and has a joint development agreement with the UK’s largest power station where a pilot project is established. The pilot project uses bio-energy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) which has the potential for achieving negative emissions, and if deployed on significant scale, will reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. The development of C-Capture’s technology could help to solve the climate crisis. Further applications of C-Capture’s innovative technology include a safer and more cost effective way of biogas upgrading including from landfill sites, and use with anaerobic digestors to generate power from waste.

As the company develops its products and continues to grow, we are looking to recruit an Automation Engineer to design and build control systems.

The role will involve:

  • Designing and building control systems based on requirements from process engineers
  • Commissioning and troubleshooting
  • Travel within the UK to customer sites
  • Working to tight deadlines as part of a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications and experience:

  • Electrical engineering or related degree
  • At least 2 years experience working in similar role
  • Experience in PLC programming to IEC 61131-3 standard
  • Familiar with common communication protocols (Modbus, TCP/IP), analog and digital signaling
  • Experience with pumps, motors, actuators (Variable Frequency Drives)
  • Experience with sensors such as pressure transducers, thermocouples and various flowmeters
  • Experience in translating HAZOP to Trip Schedules and implementing Trips and Alarms in PLC logic
  • UK driving license
  • Team player with good verbal and written communication skills

The following experience would be useful but not essential

  • Familiarity with Structured Text in CoDeSys
  • Working knowledge of National Instruments Hardware and LabVIEW
  • Experience in developing control systems for chemical industry
  • Certification in LabVIEW Development
  • Experience with other programming languages such as Python, C and MatLab
  • Experience with Microcontrollers such as Raspberry Pi and Arduino

C-Capture are looking to recruit a data and market analyst to support the business development manager in techno-economic analysis, analysing existing data, inputting of new data into the business model, market analysis, and modelling of different scenarios for the application areas in which C-Capture’s process will be used. This dynamic and challenging role would suit an engineer who wishes to focus on techno-economic analysis, or a recent graduate from a scientific / mathematical discipline with a keen interest in working in the clean energy sector.

The role will involve:
Understanding of policy regulations and frameworks
Working through financial business models
Costing of resources required for each project
Analysing and validating previous equipment and plant data
Mass and energy balance calculations
Calculation of energy penalty of the C-Capture process on different applications
Modelling of the wider process in which C-Capture’s technology is used
Building the data for business cases
Financial assessment of tenders from customers to ratify the business case

Necessary Qualifications and Experience:
Batchelors or Masters degree in Science / Engineering / Business / Mathematics
Experience of working in the engineering industry / clean energy sector is preferred but not essential, applications from recent graduates are welcome
Keen interest in carbon capture and storage / clean energy
Experience of accounting or investment analysis experience

C-Capture are looking to recruit a pipefitter / pipefitter’s mate to assist our in-house welder in the production of our equipment. Experience of pipework is essential, including pipefitting, drilling, grinding and filing

The role will involve:

  • Understanding pipework layouts
  • Reading engineering drawings
  • Pipefitting, mainly with stainless steel
  • Working with hand tools including grinders, power drills and pillar drills

The following experience would be useful but not essential

  • Experience with TIG welding
  • Experience with other kinds of welding
